24-26 October 2025 (Labour Weekend) - Whaka 100 MTB Marathon - Rotorua
The Southern Hemisphere's biggest MTB Marathon and festival. Courses for all to challenge themselves: 5km Kids, 10km Fun Ride, 25km, 50km, 100km and Miler (160km). Regardless of what course you decide to race one thing is guaranteed: you will be racing in one of the best mountain bike venues in New Zealand. www.whaka100.co.nz

Sat 25 October 2024 (Labour weekend) - Dusky Trail - Twizel
A 40km course in the Mackenzie Country through iconic highcountry stations with magnificent views of Mount Cook, Lake Pukaki, and Lake Benmore. Involves a few river crossings and an overall vertical climb of over just 500m. The Trail follows 4WD farm tracks and has a small section of both singletrack and gravel road. Sunday 9 November 2025 - Rock around the Croc 4 Hour MTB Challenge - Crocodile XC MTB Park, ChCh
After a popular inaugural event in 2024, the Rock Around the Croc is back for 2025. A fun technical singletrack course for solo or teams of 2-3 riders, brought to you by the Christchurch Singletrack Club. This is a unique race format where parts of the course change slightly three times during the duration of the race so that across the four hours riders use almost every track in the park (most expert tracks have easier options). We (Christchurch Singletrack Club) are running our annual series of short XC races again this season for CSC club members (others are welcome to come along to try it out). Short course multi-lap format using various loops within the ever growing trail network of the Crocodile XC MTB Park. Races typically take around 30-40 minutes to complete, and involve up to 4 laps. Sat 22 November 2025 - Tekapo10 - Lake Tekapo
This event is well worth driving down from ChCh for. It is a great course for this sort of event and is way cheaper then other similar relays. And all the proceeds go towards the school. A 10 hour XC team relay or solo race based in the Lake Tekapo Regional Park, utilising a 7km circuit of mostly forested singletrack and a bit of 4WD track. Great race for all abilities of racers with plenty of passing room. This event is organised as a fundraiser for Mackenzie College. More details on their event Facebook page closer to the event

Check out this brand new event, which may well be a world first! Taking the very popular running backyard ultra format and applying it to a MTB event. And what better location than Hanmer Springs! And what better team than the crew who have just recently organised a successful running backyard ultra in Hanmer Springs. Using a 10.5 km loop, riders do one lap every hour, starting on the hour, until there is only one rider left. How long can you go? What pace will you set? Slow and steady with minimal breaks, or a fast pace so you can put your feet up for a while before the next lap starts? This event format suits all riders as it is not about being the fastest rider - it is all about your endurance. All you have to do is keep knocking out those laps.
