Tuesday evening, 25 November 2025 - Crocodile Series, round 2 - Crocodile XC MTB Park, ChCh
We (Christchurch Singletrack Club) are running our annual series of short XC races again this season for CSC club members (others are welcome to come along to try it out). Short course multi-lap format using various loops within the ever growing trail network of the Crocodile XC MTB Park. Races typically take around 30-40 minutes to complete, and involve up to 4 laps. We vary the course each week for the main course. Usually 4 races each evening to cater for both sport and expert riders. More details at www.singletrack.org.nz. Sun 7 December 2025 - Bridge to Bridge - North Canterbury
Bike 58km from the Waimak River Gorge bridge to SH1 along 4WD, stopbanks and forestry tracks. Also a 115km Enduro option which heads up the North Bank and down the South Bank. Other options are the 30km Willows to SH1 course and a 12km recreational ride. www.bridgetobridge.co.nz

This is a big one! XC action all day Saturday and Sunday. There will be the U19, U23 and Elite UCI categories racing each day and there will also be age group races for those who are not in those particular races. Sat 7 March 2026 - Backyard Ultra MTB event - Hanmer Springs
Check out this brand new event, which may well be a world first! Taking the very popular running backyard ultra format and applying it to a MTB event. And what better location than Hanmer Springs! And what better team than the crew who have just recently organised a successful running backyard ultra in Hanmer Springs. Using a 10.5 km loop, riders do one lap every hour, starting on the hour, until there is only one rider left. How long can you go? What pace will you set? Slow and steady with minimal breaks, or a fast pace so you can put your feet up for a while before the next lap starts? This event format suits all riders as it is not about being the fastest rider - it is all about your endurance. All you have to do is keep knocking out those laps.
