The following is a frequently updated list of all the cross country mountainbike events we know of that may be of interest
to cross country mountainbikers (particularly those of us from Canterbury). While we try to ensure details are correct, the Christchurch Singletrack Club take no

Sun 6 April 2025 - Porirua Grand Traverse - Porirua, Wellington 
Established in 2006, the PGT is the grand tour of Porirua's spectacular hills, harbour and coastline. 15km, 30km and 60km courses, finishing in Kaiapoi just by the Bridge on Raven Quay. Bike from the Waimak River Gorge bridge to Kaiapoi along 4WD, stopbanks and forestry tracks. www.bridgetobridge.co.nz

24-26 October 2025 (Labour Weekend) - Whaka 100 MTB Marathon - Rotorua
The Southern Hemisphere's biggest MTB Marathon and festival. Courses for all to challenge themselves: 5km Kids, 10km Fun Ride, 25km, 50km, 100km and Miler (160km). Regardless of what course you decide to race one thing is guaranteed: you will be racing in one of the best mountain bike venues in New Zealand. www.whaka100.co.nz

Sat 15 November 2025 - Ride the Wilderness - West Coast Wilderness Trail, West Coast
Four different course options to suit all riders: 131 km Ross to Greymouth, 100 km Hokitika to Greymouth,64 km Cowboy Paradise to Greymouth, 26 km Kumara to Greymouth. Teams of 2 or 4 can race from Ross and teams of 2 from Cowboy Paradise. See www.ridethewilderness.co.nz

It's back! A great course that utilises manhy of the fantastic Hanmer Springs tracks, including the Tombstone track. 30 and 65km options.

Sun 7 December 2025 - Bridge to Bridge - North Canterbury
Bike 58km from the Waimak River Gorge bridge to SH1 along 4WD, stopbanks and forestry tracks. Also a 115km Enduro option which heads up the North Bank and down the South Bank. Other options are the 30km Willows to SH1 course and a 12km recreational ride. www.bridgetobridge.co.nz
