Fantastic day today. Hired a digger to work on the Halswell Track. Thanks to the club for funding the hire. Thanks to Hirepool for giving us a great rate. Thanks to Tom for being an awesome digger operator - his ability and speed was outstanding. Thanks to Ross C and Craig and Glenn and Michael for pitching in to what was a huge days effort. And we are going back tomorrow to carry on! The digger could do stuff we would never do by hand.

Don't forget - club ride to check out the tracks at Haven MTB Park this Saturday, 11 am. It's about a 35 minute drive from Christchurch. Who is keen to go?

Applying reflective tape to your pack, ankles, helmet or bike is one simple and effective way to increase your visibility as the days grow shorter.
Castle Hill Hogs Back Track
Well it looks like the track has moved into winter mode with lots of slick clay, mud, and frost heave. People are starting to cut corners and walk off the track so lets give it a rest till next season. Let everyone know the track is closed for the season...opening in Spring. It was an awesome autumn of riding. Thanks to all those who gave $$ or time this year.

NOTICE - Due to the amount of interest the BikeCycle Enduro is getting, we are having to limit the entries to 120 riders! Spread the word and get to registration early to avoid disappointment!
We have a 1.5 tonne digger booked for a couple of days work on the new Halswell Track the weekend of 12-13 May. We have an operator sorted for some of that time but are wondering if there are any others of you out there who have any digger experience who could spend some time on it to share the load. We are also keen to hear from others who are keen to learn how to operate a digger with the intention of volunteering some time on a digger in future if the opportunty arises. Let me know - craig@singletrack.org.nz or 322 7886. Cheers

If this appeals then txt Nick S on 027 494 1165 to arrange details
