Click Port Hills Classic course 2016 to open a larger map.    Starting in the picnic area you’ll head up the start of the Crocodile Track, then onto Deviation. At the end of the singletrack section of Deviation you’ll turn left onto the 4WD track and enter the main working farm area of the van Asch farm which will only have public access on race day. The next 3km is on mostly grass 4WD track along a ridge which pops you back out into the public access area near the top of Siberia Track. Head along Kennedys Bush Track to the saddle and up Siberia Track, through the gate and then hopefully onto a new piece of track that takes you up onto Kitchener’s Knob (subject to it being built in time). Then diving down a short steep grass 4WD track you’ll turn sharp left and head back up Kennedys Bush Track to the gate where you’ll turn sharp right onto Take The Low Road singletrack which you’ll follow all the way, then straight onto the Crocodile Track which you’ll follow down to C2. Head  down C2 and detour out to the picnic area from the stormwater ponds to the start/finish area. Subsequent laps will head back to the storm water pond then continue left on to C2 and up the Crocodile.  Please do not attempt to ride the main farm section or walking tracks before race day.

We expect a lap to take about 25 to 45 minutes.

The kids course:
Easy Loop – a little course in the picnic area for loosely pre-school children on balance bikes or 12″ bikes
Medium Loop – two laps of the dog exercise area, parents are welcome to accompany their children, probably suit 5 – 10 year olds
Hard Loop – two laps of the dog exercise area, plus the first bit of C2, turning right at the farm gate by the stormwater ponds and heading up the 4WD track back to the picnic area.  Parents are welcome to accompany their children, probably suit 10 – 14 year olds.
We realise there is a range of capabilities among children and that some will be better suited to the main race rather than the kids race.

A Grade – 3 Laps
B Grade – 2 Laps
C Grade – 1 Lap
Kids race – Easy
Kids race – Medium
Kids race – Hard

You are welcome to enter whatever category you feel is appropriate for you, but to give you an idea, an A Grade men rider would be able to get up Rapaki in under 16 minutes, a B Grade men rider is likely to take 16 – 25 minutes to get up Rapaki and a C Grade men rider would take more than 25 minutes to get up Rapaki Track.  The kids races will be a bit longer in 2016 than they were in 2015.
